Andrea Collins

Andrea is a fifth-generation Montanan, born and raised in Missoula, who calls Bozeman home. Prior to law school, Andrea attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, OR, where she studied political science, foreign languages, and studio art, and attended the prestigious l’Institut d’Études Politiques in Aix-en-Provence, FR, where she studied French and politics. After graduation, Andrea returned to Missoula where she worked at wine restaurants, at a medical clinic, and at a national title insurance company before finding her way into the legal profession. Prior to law school, Andrea worked as a legal assistant in a small law firm that focuses on personal injury, family law, and mediation, and a large law firm that focuses on insurance defense and healthcare law.

During law school Andrea served as the Articles Editor of the Montana Law Review, and Treasurer of the Environmental Law Group. She authored an article on federal public lands published in the Montana Law Review, and completed a year-long land use clinical internship where she worked with Missoula County land use planners, and provided assistance to the Montana Association of Land Trusts. She also worked part-time throughout law school at a medium-sized law firm that focuses on medical malpractice and insurance defense.

After graduating law school, Andrea clerked for the Honorable Justice Michael E Wheat at the Montana Supreme Court. Upon completion of her clerkship, she was appointed by the Chief Water Judge as a Water Master at the Montana Water Court in Bozeman prior to opening Collins Law PLLC. In her free time she has served on the board of directors for the following organizations: Gallatin County Bar Association, a local homeowners’ association, and Tangle Free Montana. She also spends as much time as possible outdoors with her vizsla Arrow.
